After leaving college, Tony worked as a plumber for five years and then as an air conditioning engineer. In 2001, his life changed when, on an annual football trip to Blackpool, he entered a karaoke competition and paid tribute to his idol Robbie Williams. Tony won all the heats and the £1,000 top prize money.
Tony is a huge fan of his Musical Superstar and has been following Robbie’s concert tours since 1996. He has been a successful Robbie Tribute Act for more than five years and has performed all over Europe in the process. At a festival in Holland a few years ago, Tony sang to an audience of 15,000 people.
Tony loves entertaining big audiences, but also frequently puts on intimate showcases just for his close friends.
He puts a lot of effort into getting his look right.
‘My biggest thing is putting my false tattoos on,’ he says. ‘That’s my biggest rigmarole, really.
‘I’m hoping to have one done on my arm before the show starts. I’ve got tattoos anyway- more conspicuous than some of Robbie’s ones!’
Tony has just bought a house in Lancashire with his girlfriend Natalie who works as a doctor.
Tony just loves performing as Robbie and has a lot of favourite songs.
‘I really like Come Undone and I’m a really big fan of Let Me Entertain You,’ he reveals.
‘I’m a big fan of a lot of his songs. I never get bored of singing his songs. Never, ever.’

Robbie Williams
Teen idol and multi-award winning vocalist and songwriter Robbie started his career when he auditioned for a new boy band called Take That. Formed in 1990, the band sold nine million albums and generated Beatles-type hysteria from fans. When he went solo, Robbie’s career went stratospheric. In 2002, it was reported that Robbie had secured a record-breaking deal with EMI worth £80 million. And when he performed three concerts at Knebworth back in 2003, he attracted over 375,000 fans, setting a record for attendance at the venue.
The feisty Stoke-on-Trent lad has sold more albums in the UK than any other British solo artist in history, has won more BRITs than any other artist to date, and was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
