Tara started singing when she was 12-years old. However, an illness affecting her immune system forced her to take time away from school and left her unable to pursue her love of acting and dancing. For a time, doctors feared she might lose the use of her legs.
After her GCSEs, amazingly, Tara was well enough to train as a riding instructor (Tara’s other passion is horses) and she taught for three years, before deciding to swap her riding hat for a police helmet.
Tara only started performing as Britney Spears in March 2007, although prior to this she was in an ABBA tribute band and says that one of her greatest moments was singing in front of 10,000 people at a concert in India.
She says that her ex-colleagues in the Police are totally supportive of her music career and often teased her that ‘Britney is in charge tonight!’
Tara lives in Lincolnshire, next door to her parents. The only time she has ever moved away was when she briefly went to boarding school.
Tara’s boyfriend is also a police officer and she says that he is a calming influence on her, as well as being her greatest fan! Without his support, Tara wouldn’t be on the show as it was him who persuaded her to audition.
Tara’s dream is to perform with Robbie Williams. Well, she’s on the right show!
Her favourite Britney Spears’ track is I Love Rock N Roll.
Tara left in Week Three after losing the Superstar Vote against The One and Only... Kylie by 3 votes to 5.
Tara was voted onto the show by the public and performed three of Britney Spears songs, before being voted off.
