 Evelyne Brink

Evelyne Brink might well have brought a sprinkling of glitz and glamour to the show. However, it wasn’t enough to secure your votes.

As our Material Girl heads for home, we caught up with her for an exclusive chat.

How are you feeling about leaving the show?
I'm feeling OK, upset, accepting and angry. I have been swinging from emotion to emotion today.

The show is so intense, you get so caught up in it and you don’t want to leave. It is like when you are sleeping and you don’t want to wake from a fantastic dream.

However, it is slightly difficult to stay upset when there is another television appearance on the schedule!

What television appearance is this?
I’ve been asked to appear on BBC Breakfast. I’ll be on the red couch, darling! Seriously, I can’t wait!

Does it make it harder for you, knowing that you have been voted off by your fellow acts?
It is never nice being voted off a show but, having spoken to some of the other acts, I’ve a feeling it was much harder for them than for me.

Was it difficult performing against Siam in the Superstar vote?
Siam should not have been in the bottom two. She is so talented. But, I didn’t see it as me performing against her. I wanted us both to do well.

What will you take away from your time on the show?
The greatest thing I will take away with me is having faced my darkest fears and survived. The rehearsals are so intense but I’ve learnt that I can do things I’ve never done before. It has made me so much stronger.

I can also hit the high notes that I couldn’t sing before!

You got to wear some fantastic costumes as Madonna. Was this a part of the show you liked?
I loved it! The costumes, the make-up, the photo-shoots...I couldn’t get enough of it! I was like, ‘Where is the photographer? Come to me!’

Will you still be watching the show, now that you are not on it?
I’m having a small, dinner party next Saturday and we will all be watching it!
