As Victoria Jones, The One and Only…Kylie Minogue heads home, we catch up with her for an exclusive chat to find out more about her time on the live show and, more crucially, to ask about those amazing costumes!
How are you feeling about leaving the show?
I’m slightly frustrated as I got quite negative comments on Saturday, despite working really hard on the routine. However, it was great just to have had the opportunity to be on the show.
Was it more difficult being voted off the show without the chance to perform again in the Superstar vote?
I would have loved the chance to perform my song again. However, being voted off by the public made it slightly easier for me. I think it would have been worse to stand on stage and be voted for by the other acts as we are all quite good friends now.
What did you think of the Superstar vote?
I couldn’t believe that Joanna (The One and Only…Cher) was in the sing-off. She is fantastic. I really felt for her and Ed (The One and Only…Elton John) as I think the Superstar vote was really difficult this week.
Your supporters were quite vocal on Saturday!
Did it help to have friends in the audience?
It was great. Knowing that they were cheering me on totally helped my confidence. But, they were quite loud.
What was the most difficult part of being on the show for you?
Knowing that someone had to go home each week was really difficult. It was really nerve wracking just standing on stage waiting to see whether you were through or not.
However, there were also really good things about being on the show. My favourite part of it has to be the costumes! I couldn’t wait to see what I was wearing each week. The showgirl outfit I wore on Saturday has to be my favourite. It was fantastic.
Now you are no longer on the show, what is next for you?
I don’t know as I haven’t really thought about it. However, I love performing as Kylie and I really want to continue with my tribute act.
Will you be watching the show next week?
I’ll definitely be watching at home! When I was voted off on Saturday, I watched the sing-off in the dressing room with the costume girls and I loved it. It is much better watching it when you don’t have to worry about getting voted off!
Will you be voting for any of the acts?
I don’t know. I’ll have to see whether anyone impresses me next week!
