95. บีบีซีภาคภาษาไทย ไม่ควรปืดสถานี เพราะทำให้ความรักความผูกพั้นระหว่างคนชาติยุโรปและคนไทยจางหายไป ช่วยบอกเขาด้วยว่าคุณได้มิตรภาพราคาถูกมาก เขาจะตัดทอนงบประมาณลง มิตร ความรัก ความสัมพันธ์จะลดลงและหมดไปในที่สุด ได้แต่เศร้าและน่าเสียดาย

97. It is a terrible disappointment to hear that the BBC intends to close the Thai language service. At a time of growing restrictions on the domestic media, especially radio stations, the role of the BBC as an impartial broadcaster based outside the country is of inestimable importance. The decision to close the service, if reported correctly, is a grave error and I urge the BBC management to reconsider it.

เมื่อเช้านี้ ผมเปิด TV ช่อง 5 กองทัพบก รายการ "เช้าวันนี้ ที่เมืองไทย" ดำเนินรายการโดยคุณสมัคร สุนทรเวช (เจ้าเก่า) และคุณดุสิต ศิริวรรณ (คุณจืด) สนทนากันตอนต้นของรายการเวลาประมาณ 6.20 น. พูดกันว่า BBC ภาษาไทย จะหยุดกระจายเสียงตั้งแต่สิ้นปีนี้เป็นต้นไปเป็นจริงตามข่าวหรือครับ เพราะอ่านข่าวจากหนังสือพิมพ์ "คม ชัด ลึก" อีกต่อหนึ่ง ถ้าเป็นจริงทำไมผมไม่ได้ยินท่านประกาศในรายการเช้า-เย็นเลย

เคยอ่านจาก BBC world Service ว่ามีปัญหาเรื่องงบประมาณ กระเทือนถึง BBC ภาษาไทยเชียวหรือครับ "คม ชัด ลึก" วิจารณ์ว่าเพราะทักษิณพยายามควบคุมสื่อเกินไป ผมว่าไม่น่าจะเกี่ยวกัน ผมฟัง BBC มา 38 ปีแล้วไม่คิดว่า BBC จะยอมอยู่ใต้รัฐบาลใดๆ เพราะแม้แต่คุณ Blair ก็ถูก BBC วิพากษ์วิจารณ์มาแล้วจนเกิดเรื่องถึงศาลเมื่อ 2 ปีก่อน จึงไม่เชื่อในคำวิจารณ์นี! ้ ถ้าข่าวนี้เป็นจริงผมตกใจอย่างยิ่ง เพราะการฟัง BBC นั้นเป็นเหมือนส่วนหนึ่งในชีวิตผมมานานแล้ว เมื่อยังรับราชการอยู่ไปไหนก็เอาวิทยุและเครื่องบันทึกเสียงไปด้วย หลังเกษียณมา 11 ปีนี้ผมก็ฟังมาตลอด

ยิ่ง 4 ปีหลังนี้มี Internet ยิ่งสนุกและสบายขึ้น เพราะรับทาง Internet ชัดเจนดี ผมสุขภาพทั่วไปพอใช้ได้ เพราะ BBC กระตุ้นให้สมองของผมรับสิ่งต่างๆที่ update อยู่เสมอ และได้รับ! สาระอะไรต่างๆมากมาย เป็นอาหารสมองอยู่ตลอดเวลา ทำให้จิตใจชุ่มชื่นไม่ห่อเหี่ยว ความคิดและความจำยังพอใช้ได้แม้จะช้าลงตามวัย ผมยังทำใจไม่ถูกเมื่อถึงวันนั้น 1 มกราคม 2549

เมื่อไม่ได้ยินเสียง BBC ภาษาไทยอีกต่อไป ตื่นขึ้นมาคงเหมือนคนแขนขาด คนเคยมีอวัยวะครบ 32 แล้วมันหายไป ต้องเตรียมตัว count down 75 วันพ้นจากนี้ไป ถ้าอย่างไรกรุณาแจ้งให้ทราบความจริงด้วยนะครับ จะต้องทำใจแต่เนิ่นๆจะได้ไม่โศกเศร้ามากนัก ขอบคุณครับ สุขโข วิริยะพงษ์

99.I've listened to BBC for more than 15 years since I was a college student in Thailand. I now work in Phoenix after I finished a graduate degree. I always get updates on international and now Thai news from BBC, with a quality that I can't find from local sources.

Now that I look back, I believe growing up with BBCThai actually has influenced my life and perspective towards the world. Lately, as I'm far away from home, BBCThai provides companionship. Somehow BBCThai voices are warm, soothing and always sounds optimistic.

Online broadcast makes me feel that the world has become 'smaller', and we're all connected. I hope the decision can be changed; otherwise, you'll be missed dearly.

100. Very disappointing to hear the news of closing BBC Thai Program. Feeling like being betrayed by an old friend whom you know for years. Obviously the motive of the closing is for the interest of gaining propaganda not for the interest of the loyal listeners. Thai community may be small and does not make much of the world's political impact but they are peaceful people in a peaceful country who value true friendships more than any illusive international political interest. Please be aware that the Thai may not naturally share much of their opinion in public therefore earning the trust in them is not very easy. So sad to know that BBC had chosen to throw away that trusts from the Thai listeners who had been loyal to this foreign station for so many years. BBC Thai Program including all staffs had very well achieved what it was tasked to do but it’s the management decision to keep or destroy its value.
