38. Dear BBC Thai My wift and I have been listening to BBC Thai for 5 years. Now we are living in Toronto ,Ontario, Canada and always stick around with BBC Thai Radio by internet. Eventhough, we never write any things to BBC before , this time we diffinately can not sit still anymore. No matter what it take to sustain BBC Thai , we will do it , please let us know. 39.ตัวชี้วัดว่ามีคนรับฟังน้อยมาจากไหนคะ ถ้าเปรียบกับภาคภาษาอื่นที่ไม่ถูกปิด น่าจะน้อยกว่าผู้ฟังในประเทศไทย อยากให้มีการพิจารณาใหม่ถ้าได้รับฟังเสียงสะท้อนจากผู้ฟังจริง ๆ ขอให้เปิดใจกว้างรับฟังด้วย

ผมฝังรายงานข่าวของวิทยุบีบีซี ภาคภาษาไทย ทางสถานีวิทยุ อสมท. 106.75 (ประจวบคีรีขันธ์)เป็นประจำได้ฟังข่าวสารทั่วทุกมุมโลกและเหตุการณ์ในประเทศไทยที่รายงานโดยบีบีซี เมื่อวาน 25/10/05 ทีมงานรายงานว่าจะมีการถอดรายการภาษาต่างประเทศออกรวมถึงภาคภาษาไทยด้วย จึงรู้สึกเสียดาย และที่เจ้าหน้าที่บริหารบอกว่ามีผู้ฟังน้อยนั้นไม่ทราบว่ากลุ่มประชากรที่สำรวจเมื่อใด และกลุ่มเป้าหมายใด เนื่องจากยังมีผู้ฟังอีกเป็นจำนวนมาก ที่สนใจ น่าจะมีเหตุผลอื่นมากกว่า หากเมล์นี้รบกวนท่าน ต้องกราบขออภัยเป็นอย่างสูง ขอบคุณครับ

41. Dear Executive of the BBC,

I am shocked on hearing the news that the Thai language service is going to be closed, due to the limitation of the budget. I have been listening to the BBC World Service for twenty-four years, and a committed fan of the Thai section for twelve years. The Thai programmes have been a part of my life. I am sure that millions of Thais worldwide share this daily habit with me.

Although, the BBC broadcasts twice daily, it has been the most reliable source of news entrusted by the middle class of Thailand.

The BBC Thai service has gained goodwill among the Thai people as a beacon of wisdom and catalyst for development of our country. For sixty-four years that the BBC Thai service has been working for the development of Thailand, the only reliable media which is independent and bringing insight into lives of millions of Thai people.

It has been the only reliable source of independent news from the three southern provinces in Thailand, entrusted by Buddhists and Muslims. I am sure that the BBC will save more money for other good broadcast, especially to the Middle East, but without the Thai service, I am sure that we will see escalation of violence and breaches of human rights in the south of Thailand.

The Buddha once said, "There is no gift greater than the gift of wisdom." I can assure the BBC that the staff of the Thai service has done a highly qualified job that has significantly change lives of millions in Thailand. It will be a great loss for the Thai communities worldwide. They gave the best gift from the UK to the Thais more than any country in the world.

Without this gift, development of democracy of Thailand will surely slowed and the damage is beyond anyone to calculate. Please reconsider the policy to close the Thai service. I am sure that there could be other solution to solve the problem of budgeting of the BBC.

42. I would like to express my appreciation for the work BBC Thailand has done. I consider BBC Thailand to be the best radio news for Thai people. It gives me an unbias perspective to both internatiional and domestic news.

Apart from providing knolwdege and information, it also stimulates the listeners to view news in many angles. It would be a great loss for Thai listeners if BBC has to closed down, as our local news services are not as independent as it should be. I really wish that BBC could carry on their services.

43. Attention: Management of BBC Thai Radio Dear Sir/Madam, We heard that you may decide to stop broadcasting BBC Thai. It's very sad news for my family and Thai people. We are real fans. My husband and I are fans more than 10 years. My kids have been fans since studying Grade1. My son is studying at Grade 11 and my daughter: Grade 7. BBC Thai is quite variety news. We learn so many things from it. Those things are well prepared, researched and analyzed. Most of all, they are FACT which it's so difficult to get it in my country.

We kindly request you to reconsider the programme and allow them to remain. Anything that we can do, please let us know. We sincerely appreciate your kind support our Thai people all times.
