It
was a terrifying and daring mission, and one from which Teessider
John Morrison thought he'd never escape when his bomber crash-landed
in Norway. Now watch these unique films as he returns with a BBC
Look North TV crew 61 years later.
In
1942, the RAF was sent to attack Germany's most powerful battleship
- the Tirpitz, moored in Nazi-controlled Norway.
Many
planes never returned. On board one of them was a man from Teesside
who now, 61 years later, has gone back to Norway to retrace the
extraordinary events which changed his life.
Back
in Norway, John Morrison went back to the site where his plane crashed
and was reunited with the people who risked their lives to protect
him from the Nazis.
