61 years later, John returns to Norway
Halifax Bomber.
John Morrison flew in a Halifax bomber.
It was a terrifying and daring mission, and one from which Teessider John Morrison thought he'd never escape when his bomber crash-landed in Norway. Now watch these unique films as he returns with a BBC Look North TV crew 61 years later.

In 1942, the RAF was sent to attack Germany's most powerful battleship - the Tirpitz, moored in Nazi-controlled Norway.

Many planes never returned. On board one of them was a man from Teesside who now, 61 years later, has gone back to Norway to retrace the extraordinary events which changed his life.
