SIRF & The Fringe 2009You are in: Tees > Entertainment > Festivals and Events > SIRF & The Fringe 2009 > Youth carnival preparations begin ![]() CCTV dancers Youth carnival preparations beginYoung people on Teesside have begun preparations for the Stockton International Riverside Festival. As part of Stockton International Riverside Festival, Stockton High Street will play host to a Community Carnival. Previously called The Parade, the carnival will see youngsters and performance groups from across Teesside and County Durham swirl and march their way through the town centre.
As part of the Community Carnival, Carnival Crew Tees Valley are preparing a very loud, bright and cheerful routine, bringing together youngsters from the area who have dance or music knowledge... or just a general interest in learning a bit more about it! Amy Walton, choreographer for CCTV, says she's excited to be involved for the second year running: "Some of the kids here have been doing dance for a long time, and some of them have never taken part in dance before; which is something we wanted to encourage." "You don't have to have a lot of experience to come and take part in this, because at the end of the day a carnival is about having fun and enjoying yourself."
