Teesside’s iconic landmark has a new voice on it’s 96th Birthday.

Teesside’s iconic landmark has a new voice on it’s 96th Birthday.

Insurance worker Brian Hall, from Netherfields in Middlesbrough, won a competition  with Middlesbrough Council and the Evening Gazette to become the identity of the world famous bridge.

Brian came into BBC Tees to record the statement that will be played millions of times over the coming years.

Council worker Rodger Wakerley decided it was time for a change after deciding the existing announcement was to curt and Southern sounding.
