Katherine Hannah

Join Katherine Hannah weekdays 4pm - 6pm.

Place of birth:

North Ferriby, near Hull

What's your favourite part of our area:

Saltburn - even in winter when it's freezing cold and blowing a gale, there's something spectacular about the waves crashing against the pier, the beach and the surrounding hills. I also like the works at night, when it's all lit up.

Previous jobs:

I was the world's worst waitress. Have also been a barmaid, chambermaid, and writer for a football magazine.

Why do you love your job:

Because I'm really nosey and you get to find out things before everyone else. And you get to talk to lots of interesting people and play great music.

Most interesting person you have interviewed for radio:

Tony Blair was probably the most important - it was a bit surreal talking to him after seeing him on TV so much.

Person you would most enjoy being stuck in a lift with:

Stephen Fry - he knows everything about everything. You'd never be bored.

First record you bought:

I remember buying Madonna's True Blue album on cassette. I've still got it somewhere!

Where you are when you get most of your inspiration or creative thoughts:

In the car, you spot all sorts of things when you're driving about.

Funny sayings you like to use:

'Onwards and upwards'

Any habits, annoying or otherwise:

I'm a terrible fidget, and I'm very impatient.
