From Teesside to London

A student has discovered footage of the first flight from Teesside to London - see it here.

In November 1969, the first flight from Teesside Airport took off for London.

Teesside University student Mark Rye got in touch with BBC Tees' John Foster after discovering undiscovered footage of the flight.

This film is now forming part of a module for Mark and his pal's final assessment (and if you look closely, you can spot a much younger John Prescott).

Were you there? Do you know anyone who was? Did you work at the airport or one of the airlines?

Take a look at the footage and if you can help, get in touch with us.

Join John Foster from 7 to 10am weekdays and from 6.30 to 9pm on Saturday's on BBC Tees.
