We Start Fires - bark is as bad as bite
We Start Fires
They've released two singles, have done an NME tour and have had airplay on Radio 1...
We Start Fires are an all guns blazing electro-indie-punk outfit brought together through a shared love of old movies, scuzzy rock n roll, DIY manifestos, hot electronica and grimy indie clubs.
Their masterplan is to "kick some arse, live the dream and encourage girls that you can have a career in music whilst wearing nice clothes, as opposed to none at all."
Their debut single Strut was produced by James Ford (Test Icicles / Mystery Jets), released on racy red 7” vinyl in August and,due to airplay by Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq, Mark Riley and John Kennedy, the first 500 copies sold so quickly that within a week of its release the single was re-pressed on electric blue vinyl.
After a gig Madame Jo Jo's in London they were asked to support to Nine Black Alps on their August 2005 and have also done a Club NME tour with our label mates Bromheads Jacket and The Fold and supported Nine Black Alps at their biggest homecoming show yet at The Ritz in Manchester.
Their second single' Hot Metal' was released on January 3rd on limited metallic silver vinyl and handpainted CDs and after John Kennedy's XFM announcing it "the best thing they've done yet!", it promptly crash landed into the NME as Single Of The Week runner up.
