The park is funded by Stockton Borough council and lottery money and it came about after skaters, and some of their parents contacted the council about getting an area designated just for skating. ![]() Helmet and pads are essential for safety X-treme scene was named by 13-year-old David Mongon and at the official opening of the skate park during the half term, David was presented with a new skate board by the Mayor of Stockton, Cllr. Jenny Beaumont. He says, “Skate spots can be anything, stairs, parks, streets, whatever, and it’s important for the riders to have an official place to go to.” Even though the skate park now is in Stockton, it might be moved to some other place in the borough in the future, as a way of keeping the momentum and interest of the park going.
