The winner of Young Sports Personality of the Year 2007 is:

The final date for nominations was Wednesday October 31st. A Young Sports Personality judging panel (chaired by John Inverdale and including Jake Humphrey from CBBC's Sportsround with further representatives from Blue Peter, Sportsround, Sports Personality of the Year and the Youth Sport Trust, plus former YSPOTY winner Amy Spencer) met to discuss the nominations on November 2nd. The panel then chose the top 10 contenders. These have been published on the BBC Sports Personality web site, CBBC web sites, here on BBC Switch and on the Youth Sport Trust's Web site. The list will also appear in a national newspaper.
The same panel then reconvened on 19th Nov to select the top 3 and the winner from the top 10. The top 3 and the winner were selected by secret ballot and announced during Sports Personality of the Year. The top 3 have been published on the BBC Sports Personality web site, CBBC web sites, BBC Switch and on the Youth Sport Trust's Web site. The list also appeared in a national newspaper and features have been made for Sportsround and Blue Peter.
On November 19th, the top 3 were invited to the live event which took take place on December 9th and the other 7 contenders were notified out of courtesy that they have not made the final shortlist.
