[mosh-urr] noun, Moshameous-Errdiem, Latin - Sometimes used as a northern term for a Rocker, the Mosher is descended from a group of unruly music fans who were known for their inability to care about their physical (and mental) well-being whilst enjoying their favourite musical artist or band.

We searched the net, spoke to tribes and hung out with them: all to find out what it would be like to be... one of them.

What would I wear?

• I do not care for fashion…
• …apart from Band tee-shirts, baggy shorts, torn jeans, piercings and tattoos.
• My hair must be either completely shaven or grown for 16 years and left in an 'organised' mess created from the night before.

What about music?

• I follow bands such as Alexisonfire, Machine Head, Napalm Death, Iron Maiden, Queens of the Stone Age, System of A Down etc.
• I love Hardcore, Metal-core, Thrash-core and anything that ends in '-core'. (Corr)
• I am a true music fan, so respect all genres and tastes.
• If I haven’t got an injury by the time I leave a gig… well then, it’s been a rubbish gig.

What do I do?

• I head bang and get very very sweaty.
• I play a rock musical instrument in a band.
• I’m most happy when having a good time at a gig with my friends.
• I can scream for 16 hours straight, yet somehow never lose my voice.
• I head straight to the mosh-pit at any gig.

What do I think?

• I don’t care how I get it, I will steal some stuff from the band…. the second drummers sweaty towel? Perfect.
• I never sit on the fence, I either love you or hate you...
