What is it?

2CB is a man-made drug that usually comes as a tablet or capsule. Occasionally it is a powder. It can be swallowed or snorted. Compared to other club drugs it's quite rare in the UK.

2CB is quite often used at the peak of an ecstasy trip to keep the E going as long as possible. It can be used on its own too and sometimes it's sold as E, even though people say that it's quite a different ride on its own.

People get off on 15mg-40mg and it costs around £2-£5 for a 5mg pill.

How does it make you feel?

At the lower doses, 2CB is mildly trippy and speedy. Colours will be vivid, you will become really sensitive to touch, taste and smell. It is more psychedelic than E, but less touchy feely. You are more likely to get all sexed-up than all loved-up!

At higher doses of 2CB you get more and more hallucinations. If you are going to try some make sure you start with a low dose. Taking too much can give you a bad trip that lasts for 4-8 hours.

What are the health effects?

Don't take 2CB if you are feeling low or depressed. It will make you feel a lot worse.

If you are buying pills from a dealer, how do you really know what is in them? You should be cautious with every batch that comes through and start with a little until you know that it is okay. Drug tests for 2CB are available over the internet, but, let's face it, you're not going to get one out in the middle of a rave.

Very little is known about the long-term effects of 2CB use.

The law

2CB is a Class A drug. It carries a maximum sentence of seven years imprisonment for possession and up to life in prison for supply.
