Beaver Bulletin #78: Bonfire Beav
*whispers* Hello! I'm sorry I can't speak to you in my normal booming beaver voice, but I'm down here in the burrow, trying to keep away from the great flashing lights in the sky. I believe you know them as 'fire' 'works', which is a strange name. In my experience a fully working fire does not explode over my head, it crackles nicely at my furry feet.
We're none of us too keen down here, I can tell you. But don't worry, it's not all paws-in-the-ears around here. Switch Live has taken over the Slink office in a big way, so the humans are getting very excited.
Slink Aiss is sharpening her gossip pencils (I helped a bit, wood being my forte), Slinks Vicki and Frase are polishing their photo-editing scissors and Slink Trev is revving up the videomatizer (I'll be honest, I drifted off a bit when he explained what it was).
For more information about Switch Live, have a look at the website they've made, the clever things.
As for me, I'll be safely tucked away here until the skybangs are all over - a week should do it - and having a look at the astonishing things Slink has done recently. Like these:
Do boys mean it when they say you're beautiful? - In Boy's View
My bag is full of soup! - In Slink Loves
Do you wear a poppy for Remembrance Sunday? - Your Say
Why do girls giggle? - in Girl's View
I was rescued by helicopter - in Real Lives
The Cut fashion - where do Switch's soapsters buy their clothes?
Blast Your Label - Eps 5 and 6.
And did we mention Switch Live? We did? Good.

J-Pop Til You Drop
Heeeeyyyyyyy Slink,
I think that theres loads of coolsome music here in the UK.
BUT!!
Music from Japan just rocks my socks. Like, nobody over here has even
HEARD of Kanjani8 or Ayumi Hamasaki. I mean, they sing in Japanese,
but...
WHY NOT? If everyone else listened to Japanese music stuff, it'd look
normal. I am normal, though, right?
Emily, 14
Dear Emily,
Normal? You're practically SUPER-normal, if such a thing could exist.
Anyway, yes, there's tons of brilliant J-Pop out there, and it can't be a minority concern if Ayumi Hamasaki can sell over 50 million records. There aren't that many English-singing pop stars that have managed that, after all.
The thing with music is it's personal, so it wouldn't matter if you were the only human on Earth - besides Kanjani8's immediate family - that loves their music, it doesn't make you wrong. The only trouble is, it doesn't make your friends wrong if they can't get into the stuff you like.
It's annoying, but that's music for ya.

From the New World...
My Dear Slink,
Hello hello hello, I'm from America and I just love your website and nearly everything that comes from the UK. I'm even considering being a foreign exchange student and living in good ol England for a bit.
Now anyway, I'm just a bit obsessed with the 90's right now, especially Britpop. Oasis, Blur, Pulp, parkas, Trainspotting. Not only am I way behind, I'm in the wrong country! :D It feels good to be an individual, don't you agree? Love the site, cheers (hee hee)
Megan, 14
Alright Megan, me old china!
Strike me pink! It fair does a bloke's jam tart good to hear how much you rubber glove the kushty beat group scene here in Blighty, even if you go for the old gippers, instead of the nippers.
You must be a right tasty geezer and no mistake (even if you are a doris).
Be lucky!
