I think you should tell her the truth in a nice way, say that you will always be there for her but it's not good for her to rely on you because it will make her weak and afraid when you are not there.

What if you got the flu or something? She would have to do stuff on her own so she shouldn't shut herself off from her other mates.

This is you helping her to be independent and letting you be yourself.
