Boys are pests. Ok, buff pests with great smiles and good jokes who sometimes look like Zac Efron, but PESTS all the same. They come along and play total havoc with us girls and our friendships.

Try not to start hating your mate. She's not thinking straight. She's temporarily lost in the magic of looooove. Her head is all full of orchids and love hearts and mushy images of him and her both scampering down a beach together while Mariah Carey plays in the background.

She's in a space head-wise where it's soooo much fun watching him play video games for eight hours. Worse still, she probably doesn't even KNOW she's doing this.

The truth is Nina, buff boys will come and go, real girly mates last forever. Be a mate. Get out the ice cream, invite her over for a laugh and a moan about him while you watch X-Factor.

Oh and don't waste your energy sulking and scowling in the mean time. I know it's tempting to follow them around school pulling your best Empress of Doom deathstare (You should see mine, by the way, it is proper scary).

Do some studying, speak to some new people, stay busy, keep smiling, stay positive. I've got a feeling this will all work out OK.
