Having an Affair with your Teacher

99% of teachers wouldn't dream of starting a relationship with a pupil. But what if your teacher is in the other 1%...?

It's Illegal

The bottom line: he's breaking the law. It's illegal for anyone in a position of trust (like a teacher or doctor, for example) to have any kind of sexual contact with someone under 18 who's in their care. He could go to prison.

Fancying your teacher

It's Extremely Dodgy

He probably really does fancy you and get on well with you. But that's no excuse. He's a grown man in a responsible job: even if he fancies you, he should realise that to do anything about it is totally unprofessional. Apart from anything else, you probably wear a school uniform and call him 'Sir'. Ugh...

He's got the Power

At the end of the day, he's your teacher. He has power over you, and that's not going to change just because he's also snogging you. This will not be an equal relationship. You deserve better.

Don't be swayed by the happy endings

You'll have heard stories of teacher-pupil relationships which ended in marriage and kids. Yep, it happens: but not very often. And chances are when they started having a relationship she was older than you are now. The plain truth is that any teacher who decides it's OK to have an affair with one of his pupils is at worst on a pervy school-girl fantasy power-trip and at best unprofessional and weak.

What to do

Ideally you would get out of this relationship once and for all. But you see him every day and it's not easy to stand up to your teacher, even if you have seen him naked. It makes it even harder if you're in love with him.

But be strong. Remember that if you get found out he could well go to prison. Do you want that for him?

If you don't like what he's doing, tell someone. Yes, it'll be your word against his, but most teachers are very good at getting to the truth in the end. Tell a teacher you trust, ideally the headteacher. Good luck.
