A double hit of friendship questions here. Emily and Nikki's worries show two sides of the same situation. When you start going out with someone it's easy to get a bit giddy and want to spend all your time with the boy, but this does mean you lose out on time with your girl mates.
Emily - your friend sounds so wrapped up in her new relationship. She might think you don't understand her new boyfriend issues, but it's wrong to block you out.
As we get older we do change and adjust to the people around us, and often get caught up in what's new and exciting, rather than the familiar. It's easy to take old friends for granted and usually we just don't realize when we're doing it.
If this friendship really means something to you, you should tell her that you miss hanging out with her. Hopefully she'll realise the error of her ways and you two can start spending more time together. It might not go back to normal straight away, but give it time.
The worst thing that could happen is that she doesn't snap out of her boy-mad daze, and if so then it's her loss. She's obviously not as loyal as you, and will feel silly if her relationship doesn't last and she's left with no one. But as you've been friends for so long I'm sure you can work it out. Just find a good moment to talk to her and be honest.
Nikki - you need to remember that boyfriends come and go, but true mates will always stand by you. Don't be so quick to be annoyed by your mates. Sure, they probably are jealous of your latest squeeze - but they probably also miss kicking back with you as well.
Make time for your man and your mates because if things don't work out with him you will need them. Explain to them that spending time with the BF is important to you and you need them to appreciate that, but make sure they know that you still care about them, and are making time for them too.
And if they're still being clingy maybe you should set them up with one of your BF's mates to keep them occupied - after all, everyone loves a romantic distraction!
