A: Dear Sara
Those endless maths lessons. Algebra is enough to make anyone sweat. Those nasty plastic school chairs. And 30 degrees in the shade. It's a problem for everyone.
We all sweat buckets from our groins. We have millions of sweat glands in that department. More than just about anywhere else on our body. Plus we cover our bums no matter what the weather. Going commando isn't an option 24/7.
What to do:
• Borrow tips from your armpits. Some women find being less hairy = more comfy in summer. And antiperspirants can work just as well down below. Apply carefully with legs shut. Never apply on your vulva (pink bits).
• Try something stronger. There are strong anti perspirants that we can apply at night to minimise the problem next day. They're available on prescription, or from your Pharmacist. Ask for one containing Aluminium Chloride and follow the instructions.
• Choose clothes with care. Anything with cotton is best for sweat absorption. Nylon knickers should be banned in summer. As should panty liners. Let it breathe.
• Posture. Legs apart, leaning back and with your bum on edge of seat. Just watch for boys picking up pencils off the floor.
• My personal favourite - sit on your sweatshirt/jacket. It's more comfy that way. Plus when the bell goes - you can whip all evidence away.
Roll on Autumn!
