Slink's army of girls help confused boys understand our ways

A girl blowing out candels

Tom, 14 asks:

What's a good present to buy for a girl's birthday?

Slinkster Kay says:

Presents

Nothing too practical! A girl wants to feel special, so go for something she desires rather than something she 'needs'. She doesn't want to think about you every time she puts her socks on, or every time she brushes her teeth!

But seriously, it doesn't have to be luxurious or expensive, just something cute. Something sentimental can be a good option. Perhaps you could go for a decorated photo frame, something she can keep in her bedroom that will remind her of you?

Maybe you could even fill it with a photo of the two of you, or a nice one of her with her friends. Jewellery is a good idea too. High street stores do some great pieces, and one size fits all.

Speaking of friends, it would be a good idea to chat with them to get some ideas of the kind of thing she likes. This shows that you're thoughtful and that you're interested in her, so it ticks two boxes!

Oh, and by the way Tom - my birthday is in a couple of weeks!

Calling all lads!

What the rest of you think:

Freya, 14
You could get her a nice box of chocs, and one of her favourite movies. Then you can enjoy it together!

Amy, 15
flowers mean im sorry, chocolate means i love you

charlie, 16
i would just like him to get something that reminds him of me when he see's it if i mean that much to hiim he will just know what to get

Em, 16
Yeah, money doesn't matter, it's the thought. The sentimental value,Kay answered this well (:

Hannah, 14
it depends on her interests. if she likes music, you can give her CD. or if she likes to read, give her a book that she has never read before. so maybe you have to find out first about her interests. but you know, if she really likes you, everything you give to her will make her smile brightly.

Amy, 15
A CD mix of all her favourite songs :)

chlo3,
i agree with kay you should get her somethink like a teddy not flowers or chocolates somethink she can keep forever dont go blowing all your money on somethink she will only use once or twice a photo album with all her friends including u inside remember its the thought that counts

Gilana, 17
Girls are really easy to shop for, as you can always cop out and buy them bath goodies, but for God's sake, don't buy a girl bath goodies if you are interested in her, because she will know you've taken the easy way out. She will enjoy the bath goodies, nonetheless.
