Boy's View

Updated: Wednesday

Slink's resident boy reveals the inner workings of his kind

Why is my ex still trying to make me jealous?

When I want to make girls jealous I wear really tight leather trousers and pay female friends and family to be seen with me in public.

Invariably only my nan agrees to this, so it rarely works, although the trousers do look fantastic on me. Well, that's what my nan says. Anyway the point is if someone fancies you, it's very easy to make them jealous. But if they don't, it's very hard.

The obvious answer is that your ex wants you back. But things aren't always obvious. Boys can be unreasonable when it comes to exes. He may have been horrible to you, dumped you, even found someone else. but the moment you start snogging another geezer he'll get the hump. Exes also get more attractive when they start slipping away. So he may start acting differently and try to make you jealous - but it doesn't mean he still likes you, it just means he wants you to still like him. Then you won't snog that other boy, and everybody's happy. Except you and the other boy.

On the other hand, he might not be trying to make you jealous at all. Maybe you just are jealous. If he happened to mention he was going to watch 'Music and Lyrics' and it made you want to strangle a hamster, that's hardly his fault. It could be you with the problem. In which case my advice is: give your granddad a call.

Please remember: Kev is not an expert, he is just a boy and sometimes quite a silly boy. The main thing to remember when it comes to lads and relationships is to expect respect as the absolute minimum. Find out more about a Women's Aid campaign of the same name.
