Do guys like girls who don't know how to play hard to get, or flirt?
If you were a boy, I'd say you were a bit flonked. But you're not, probably, so you should be alright.
There might be more pressure on girls to look good than boys. But in the personality stakes, the fairer sex can get away with a lot more than lads.
When a girl is clumsy and awkward, it's endearing. When a boy is clumsy and awkward, he'll be dismissed as a loser and condemned to a joyless, babe-free existence forever.
Vulnerability in a girl is attractive because pandering to it makes boys feel like big strong men with muscles and a beard. Many lads are drawn to timid girls because they can be less scary and easier to approach.
The bad thing about being quiet and shy is that people think you're boring, which is stupid.
But the good part is that people automatically assume you're nice, although this is also stupid because quiet, unassuming people can also be horrible (like Phil Mitchell, or Gary Lineker).
Also remember that even if you're not a natural flirter or play-hard-to-getter, you can learn to get better at it. I used to be rubbish but now when I meet chicks I break out these really cool techno dance moves, then I run away. Girls really like it, I think.
So you could try that* or better still, just be yourself. And if you run out of things to say, just shrug and offer him a crisp.
*DON'T try that.
Please remember: Kev is not an expert, he is just a boy and sometimes quite a silly boy. The main thing to remember when it comes to lads and relationships is to expect respect as the absolute minimum. Find out more about a Women's Aid campaign of the same name.
