What do boys usually do around a girl that they fancy?
It would be brilliant if there was an idiot-proof way of working out who fancied us and who didn't. The world would have a lot less sobbing and a lot more snogging.
It would also be brilliant if crisps gave you muscles and rabbits laughed at your jokes. You get me? Life ain't that simple.
For instance, if a boy fancies you, he'll probably make a special effort to talk to you. That's how you can tell. But, if he likes you and he's shy, he'll actually avoid talking to you. And, even if he likes you and he's not shy, he still might not talk to you because he's playing it cool.
So before you start reading the signs, you need to try and work out what kind of boy you're dealing with.
Lads have different tactics for impressing chicks. A cocky boy will make it really obvious they're keen by bombarding you with compliments and chocolate. A discreet boy will do the exact opposite. He'll dismiss you by day and stalk you on Facebook by night.
But strategy aside, there are some things boys can't control. Watch out for any sign of nerves when you chat (shaky voice, blushing, avoiding eye contact, sweating like a cow on an exercise bike).
Another giveaway is if he keeps staring at you, or if he insists on sitting down for a few minutes after each time you leave the room.
Then there's teasing. Any form of light-hearted banter at your expense is a good sign. Unless he goes too far and calls you a troll.
Unless he thinks trolls are fit. Actually that's not funny, it's just silly. I need to stop testing out my material on rabbits.
Please remember: Kev is not an expert, he is just a boy and sometimes quite a silly boy. The main thing to remember when it comes to lads and relationships is to expect respect as the absolute minimum. Find out more about a Women's Aid campaign of the same name.
