Boy's View

Updated: Wednesday

Slink's resident boy reveals the inner workings of his kind

Does age matter to boys?

They say a boy's ideal girl is half his own age, plus 7. But is it poppycock? Well, not entirely.

Boys tend to prefer older girls until they hit about 15. This is partly because older girls have experience and stuff, but also because the chances of them being interested in us are slim. At this age we're more likely to fancy our mate's hot mum than a chick two years below us. The more unattainable a girl, the more attractive she is. But the older woman phase doesn't last.

From 16 onwards we're not too fussy. We'll happily swing up or down a couple of years.

In the main, if we think a girl is hot, we wouldn't let anything as silly as age get in the way. There are a ton of things that matter to us more, like what their hair smells like. Age seems to matter more to girls, who almost always prefer older boys to younger ones.

If you're still confused, you could just follow the 'plus 7' rule, although I just worked out that a two-year-old boy's perfect girl would be eight. So definitely not.

Please remember: Kev is not an expert, he is just a boy and sometimes quite a silly boy. The main thing to remember when it comes to lads and relationships is to expect respect as the absolute minimum. Find out more about a Women's Aid campaign of the same name.
