Follow our simple steps to flawless foundation.

1

Test

Test your foundation on clean skin - preferably on the jaw line - not on your hand.
If it blends into your skin and disappears when you apply it, then it should be a match.

Test
2

Apply

Experiment with your fingers, brush or a sponge and find out what works for you.
Blend your foundation from the centre of the face, nose, eyes and chin and work outwards.

3

Blend

Once you have worked in the foundation round all the nooks and crannies, check that the foundation is well blended and not streaky.
It's better to build up layers than cake it on.

Tips
• If you're prone to shiny skin, try applying a light dusting of powder over your foundation. This will stop shine and give your base some staying power.

• Stick with a foundation that suits your skin type. Eg Oily skin needs a powdery base to avoid shine. Dry skin needs a moisturising base to hydrate it. Cream-to-powder foundations are great for Black and Asian skins which tend to be oily.

• Check the colour in daylight - even if you have to run outside with a hand mirror - it will save you a fortune in foundation failures.

• The golden rule for Asian skin is finding a colour that is mainly yellow-based, without being too orange.
