We know it's a problem - but up until now we didn't realise just how big. New figures which Revealed has got hold of show the number of young people needing hospital treatment because of too much drinking is far higher than previously thought. In England alone more than 53 thousand people last year ended up on wards.
Previous figures only took obvious alcohol related illnesses into account, like liver disease. Our stats include injuries from everything from falling over because you've had so much to drink to getting into a fight. Alcohol admissions in under 25s are up across the UK, except in Northern Ireland where it's down slightly. Newsbeat's Tulip Mazumdar went to Leeds General Infirmary, where doctors deal with more than 100 drunk people on an average weekend, to see for herself.
