BBC appoints Capita to deliver TV Licensing collection

The Capita Group plc has today been appointed - subject to contract - to a new BBC contract to handle TV Licensing's collection, administration and enforcement services for the next eight years.

The contract - which comes into force on 1 July 2012 – replaces two existing contracts held by Capita* and iQor*.

The new contract is expected to be worth approximately £560m to Capita and represents savings to the BBC of over £220m over the eight years of the contract. These savings allow more money to be spent on BBC programmes and services.
