FELIXSTOWE

Felixstowe looks like being the place to be on the Golden Jubilee Bank Holiday. On Monday 3rd June the whole seafront comes alive to the sound of music. BBC Radio Suffolk takes centre stage putting on 11 hours of live music outside the town hall.

There will be eight main performance areas at Felixstowe, showcasing music to suit every taste.

At lunchtime, come along and join in as the festival is launched with a massive BBC Music Live musical beacon where everyone is invited to sing a version of the Beatles’ ‘All You Need is Love’, which has been specially arranged for the BBC by the composer Michael Kamen.

Chas and Dave.
Chas and Dave

Top of the bill on the evening of 3rd June are Chas and Dave and they are supported by Lightbody, Melton Mowbray, Krazee Horses and Mike Stewart Country on the main BBC Radio Suffolk stage.

As well as music, there is - 'Its a Knockout' on the beach, a musical air display, stalls, a funfair, tea dance and world record DJ attempt in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

In the evening, join BBC Look East for a live broadcast of the day’s events. And stay in Felixstowe to watch the Queen’s pop concert broadcast to the seaside from Buckingham Palace on a giant seafront screen.
