Lowestoft
is home to around 60,000 people, but thousands of holidaymakers
also visit the East coast seaside town each year, especially around
the time of the annual two-day airshow in July.
Established
as a fishing village in the early 14th century, decline in fishing
areas has seen a substantial decrease in the number of vessels now
fishing from the town. As the most easterly point in Great Britain,
Lowestoft was at the frontline during the Second World War, with
only the North Sea between it and coasts of Europe.
Located
around 100 miles from London the town prides itself on it's beaches
and has been awarded European blue flags for their cleanliness.
