The audience will be entertained by clowns and circus performers in an adaptation of Pinocchio, written by Doreen Moger and directed by Robert Bell.

Geppetto, the woodcarver (Peter Heffer), longs for a son. The Star Fairy (Sam Clark) is willing to grant his wish on condition that his puppet, Pinocchio (Gareth Lloyd), proves worthy and learns to be good. Old Nick (Karl Hitchcock) is determined that this should not happen.

The adventure continues at Stromboli's circus, where Pinocchio meets the clowns, Macaroni (Lori Scharpf) and Spaghetti (Katie Beckett), and then on and into the sea and the meeting with the whale.

But will guardian conscience, Jimminy Cricket (Darren Mather), guide everyone to a happy ending?

"With the success of last year's pantomime, 'Panto at the OK Corral', we wanted to do a more traditional pantomime, but one that we have not done before," explains Darren Mather, chairman and publicity officer for the group.

"When it was suggested about doing Pinocchio, we all jumped at the chance," said Robert Bell, Director.

There's a mix of old and new songs, 'Puppet on a String' and 'We go Together', to name but two, plus the traditional audience participation.

This year for the first time the Bunbury Players will be hosting the final of 'Puppet Idol' where the audience will get the chance to vote for the winner!
