Maureen
Cobb was secretly entered into the BBC Look East competition by
her family, who felt she deserved a special treat after a very tricky
year.
Maureen
had been watching her local football team when the football came
flying into the stand, hitting her in the left eye. It tore her
retina and sadly the doctors were unable to save her sight. Then
on top of this, she was diagnosed with leukaemia, making it the
second time she has had cancer.
Maureen
also had to have a hip replacement operation recently.

Maureen
can be seen on BBC Look East on Friday 8th March receiving her prize,
a gourmet meal for two prepared in her home by celebrity chef Beryl
Tate, a regular guest on the BBC Radio 2 Jimmy Young Show.
Beryl
is cooking salmon teriyaki with steamed asparagus and jewelled rice,
followed by apple shortbread with butterscotch sauce.
BBC
Look East had asked viewers for their Mothers Day nominations
last month, and eventually chose just three winners.
Thirty
runners up will receive a tasty box of chocolates.
BBC
Look East broadcasts regional news, weekdays on BBC One at 1:30pm,
6:30pm and 10:25pm.
