Feeding the geese at Needham Market lake

Given its name, you may expect this Suffolk town to have a market but you would be wrong, it disappeared with plague back in 1665.

Needham Market still has a plenty to offer though.

For a start there is a chip shop, favoured by Delia Smith and if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy main road through the town you can always pay a visit to Needham Lake.

This very tranquil park is not only the meeting place for the local model boat club but also for the local flocks of ducks and geese.

Make sure you come with plenty of bread, they can be a hungry bunch.
