IntroducingYou are in: Suffolk > Entertainment > Music > Introducing > Caution Horses ![]() Caution Horses Caution HorsesIpswich band Caution Horses originally formed in 1989 and after a long break they re-grouped in 2004 and are now banging out self-produced albums at a fair gallop. Mini reviewThe emphasis is very much on songwriting - think Squeeze or Dire Straits with vocals by Paul Heaton of the Beautiful South. Middle-of-the-road guitar rock which stays in the tasteful lane rather than becoming too heavy or too fast. Lacking a bit of edge as a result, but if gentle rock is your thing then have a listen. The name came from simply observing the words on the back of a horse van on one of Suffolk's country lanes. They say it predates the Cowboy Junkies' album of the same name. Their first CD was Skywire and their second Accidental Music was released in 2007. The band gigs regularly in Ipswich and the rest of Suffolk and supported the John Peel Day event at the Ipswich Steamboat Tavern in 2006. The band recorded a Suffolk Session for BBC Radio Suffolk's Stephen Foster Introducing show which runs 6-7pm Monday-Thursday. The tracks on this page are from this 2006 session. Chris and Andy also run the Suffolk Songwriters nights at the Aboretum pub on the High Street in Ipswich on the first and third Thursdays of the month.
