Ziggy Norton is painting pictures of the Ipswich waterfront before the old maltings buildings are completely pulled down and replaced by flats and University Campus Suffolk.
As an artist he tries to emphasise the different colours that can been seen in the buildings at various times of day and year. They end up looking quite psychedelic, but nevertheless an accurate recording of their shape.
Ziggy hopes to exhibit his work when the series is complete. He lives just off Wherstead Road in Ipswich and can see the changing skyline from his window.
His partner Tina is a garage mechanic and you can see her Video Nation by clicking on the link on the right.

Have Your Say
What do you make of Ziggy's paintings?
How amazing and wonderful your imagination is. Will be great to see your work in an exhibition one day :) its all cool xx your other creations are brilliant too x
Good one Zig! i love the designs for the Ipswich Docks :)
Thanks Ziggy. I worked in RW Pauls during my student days in the sixties when I was home in the summer so the video was great for me. Let me know how to get to see the paintings please.
Yes well done Ziggy..I tend to take photographs of disappearing urban landscapes but to paint them is rare today. a painting unlike a photograph tend to capture a certain ambience of a scene/building which gives the artish an element of power...to think that the paintings will outlive you so its your perceptional legacy. I've got three postcards of the finished artwork that Ziggy painted. They deserve to be in frames...and so they are. Well done Ziggy x
A very talented young man who is doing a great job of preserving some of the past for the future!! Good luck with the project.
