His main passion is music and this is reflected in his commitment to promoting the local music scene, jazz, blues and folk in his Drivetime show 4-6pm weekdays.
Tune in each weekday afternoon from 4 for great music, all the latest travel, Suffolk's top stories in detail and up to the minute sports news all brought to you by Stephen Foster aka Foz. From Monday 23 February 2009 Foz will be joined by producer Luke Deal. Between 6-7pm Monday-Thursday Foz also presents Stephen Foster Introducing, featuring local bands, visiting artists, music reviews and more. Every Friday between 4-5pm Foz is joined by Bob Shelley, where there will be much laughter, chat and general silliness. Before that he spent eight years at Electric House working for Radio Orwell. Foz was thrilled to receive a collection of willy warmers from the team at Stitching Corner in Felixstowe. "The only problem with them is they're not big enough," (in your dreams Foz).Ipswich-born Foz is married to Belinda and they have 2 sons, Oliver and Joseph. ![]() Stephen Foster with Maria Daines & Paul Killington His career highlights so far include reporting from The Falklands, presenting a programme from Wembley Stadium when Sudbury reached the F.A Vase final, working on a series of programmes with Terry Waite and helping to establish Ipswich Music Day as the best event of its kind in the country. He adores Suffolk, loves travelling to the States and has a passion for the blues (both the music and the Tractor Boys!!) ![]() Foz with the drivetime poets Jane and Terry. Stephen is also the co-author of a book on Ipswich's Regent Theatre. "From Buddy to the Beatles" recalls the days The Regent rocked. Published by Old Pond it tells the story of Buddy Holly's visit in 1958 as well as concerts there by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard and The Byrds among many other legendary acts. Stephen is a part-time music promoter in-and-around Ipswich with his company Smokestack Productions. The Happy Hour on a Friday afternoon wouldn't be the same without the regular contributions of our two poet laureates, Jane and Terry.
