Presenter profilesYou are in: Suffolk > BBC Radio Suffolk > Presenter profiles > Luke Deal ![]() Luke DealMy BBC career began in 1985 as a film critic on BBC1's Breakfast Time, in the days of Selina Scott and Frank Bough. In all I made 12 appearances during the school holidays on the famous red sofa reviewing the latest cinema releases.
My other BBC jobs included working in the Registry department, BBC Shops and World Service before I came to BBC Radio Suffolk as a programme assistant in 1996. In 1998 I took a career break and joined the low cost airline 'Go' as an air steward, or trolley-dolly! Listen to highlights from Luke's show: Help playing audio/video ![]() Luke Deal and Pauline Quirke In March 2000 I was invited back to BBC Radio Suffolk as a radio-car reporter. It was a great job and I covered a wide range of stories and met a lot of very interesting people. I also read the news, produced the lunchtime programme with Rachel Sloane and Nick Risby's mid-morning show, which was great fun. Then I was fortunate enough to land my own gig presenting the Saturday Breakfast show. Despite the early alarm call, it was great fun and challenging. ![]() Debra Stephenson and Luke Deal My show in the afternoon is a mixture of something old, something new, something active and something for the weekend. Mixed in with great music, quirky stories and the occasional competitions.
