It's a family event and takes place on Beyton School Playing Fields from 4pm to 7pm (picnics welcome). There's no charge for admission. Four bands will give an example of the varied nature of Gospel music, ranging from one end of the spectrum to the other. Stuart Menzies-Farrant

An opportunity to see a multi-talented artist in action: "a rock concert dedicated to God". Stuart's ability to blend highly acclaimed writing with dynamic live performances has led to a Gospel Entertainment Music (GEM) Award Best Male nomination and a Christian Vocalist of the Year award at the Ommys. Quatuor Yimbila Born in the Republic of Congo, the group have been together for 17 years. They sing a unique style of 'African' gospel, with a powerful beat. They sing mainly in English, but also French, Kikongo and Afrikaans.

While singing some of their own compositions, they also sing many of the traditional gospel songs, e.g. Amazing Grace, When the Saints. They are Joel, Joseph, Antonie and Andre. Julie Hall Julie is a singer songwriter with roots in the acoustic folk tradition. With a voice described as "captivating", her songs, co-written with lyricist and poet Robert Eggleston have strong themes: the struggles and joys of life and faith; of loss and hope and of Christ's love and grace, all set to memorable melodies.

On stage Julie accompanies herself on guitar and keyboard and usually includes some fiddle playing. At other times she is supported by her band comprising of guitar, mandolin and flutes/tin whistles. Sweet Vicky From the heart of Kampala in Uganda, Sweet Vicky has been performing with a full band for less than a year and already has recorded a full album. Called 'Abba Father' it's African Gospel sounds featuring vocals in both English and Ugandan. All Saints Church Organised by All Saints Church, Beyton there will be an opportunity to see how the church is involved in the charity 'Aid to the Balkans', its support of a diocese in the Congo, information about Fairtrade, CMS, and its Alpha Course. |
