It
is the first time that TENS will have held its conference outside
North America.
"This is a huge vote of confidence in the new St Nicholas Church
Centre," says Nick Clarke, the
Diocesan Communications Director.
"The TENS Board of Directors is very impressed by the facilities
being planned for the Centre and excited by the opportunity of sharing
the experiences of the Stewardship officers of the Church of England."
In addition to the 150 American representatives, the conference
will also attract nearly 100 delegates from across the UK.
"The
conference delegates, many of whom will be accompanied by their
spouses, will also provide a substantial boost to Suffolks
economy, measured in tens and possibly hundreds of thousands of
pounds," says Nick.
We share a common theology on Christian
stewardship and it will be good to worship together, share experiences
and learn from each
other. |

"This
is a wonderful opportunity for experts from both sides of the Atlantic
to share with one another the varied ways we respond to Gods
generosity," says Canon Jim Pendorf, Parish
Resources Advisor for the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
"I am proud that of the 43 dioceses in the Church of England,
the conference is being held in Ipswich."
"It is my sincere hope that beginning the planning for this
important event now will afford us
the opportunity to be able to include world renowned individuals
as keynote speakers and
attract participants from throughout the Anglican Communion and
other faith traditions as
well," says Tom Gossen, Chief Executive of TENS.
Robin Stevens, National Stewardship Officer for the Church of England
says, "The prospect of
a joint conference with TENS is an exciting one.
"We share a common theology on Christian
stewardship and it will be good to worship together, share experiences
and learn from each
other. I very much hope that the initial plans move to an imaginative
conference."
