Dancing Days
We spoke to Paul and Pamela about leaving the contest.
On Saturday Paul and Pamela lost out to JP and Stacey in a dance-off. We chatted to them about their reactions to the news, their experiences in the Mansion and their plans for the future.
Were you surprised at the result this week?
Paul: Yes. I was absolutely gutted. We danced the best we've ever danced. It think it was the curse of going first, to be honest.
Pamela: To be honest, I was surprised because me and Paul had worked so hard to get there every week and, fair enough, our Flamenco wasn't our highest score but we felt we did do a good job. We were at the top of the leader board for three weeks and every couple does have a bad week. We still pulled it off on the night but I just felt the results were a bit shocking. But at the end of the day everything happens for a reason and I'm glad we did do a good performance when we left.
How did you think your routine went the second time around?
Paul: I was pleased with the routine.
Pamela: When we were asked to perform the routine again I took everything on board and I think it was a lot smoother.
What did you think of the judges' comments?
Paul: I was happy with my comments but I don't think they were fair with the comments they gave Pam. I think we'd been the third or fourth couple on, I think we would have got a lot higher marks.
What will you miss about the Dance Mansion?
Paul: I'll miss the ballet with Stephen as I've never done ballet in my life and I loved that. I'll miss all the lessons with all the teachers. And just the experience of dancing everyday. The three people I'll miss in there are Ben, Jenni and Hollie.
Pamela: I'll definitely miss the people. I'll miss Stacey, Paul, Darrien and Mark. We bonded together quite well. I think I'll miss being in there and training every day.
What's the most important thing you've learnt there?
Paul: I've learnt an awful lot in there. I've learnt to be more mature, adapt to styles and to not take criticism to heart as much.
Pamela: The thing I've learnt there is that as a dancer it's always going to be stressful but I want to walk away in my dancing career with no regrets. I want to work very professionally if I can. The think I learnt is that I worked hard every day and I can honestly say that I gave it 110% and no less. I have absolutely no regrets. You're not going to get every job you audition for but at least you can walk away knowing you've done your best.
Who do you tip to win?
Paul: Darren and Lana
Pamela: I thought me and Paul did have a good chance to be in the final if we kept up a high standard. Looking at the way the vote's going it could be anyone's game, really. No matter what the judges say you need the public support and if you haven't got that you're not going to be in the final.
Will you keep in touch with each other?
Paul: Pam's been offered a few things already. We'll probably stay together three to six months to review the Paul and Pam situation. We'll keep in contact as friends, but she's in Glasgow and I'm in Manchester.
Pamela: I'll definitely keep in touch with him. If there are any occasions that arise where we're asked to dance again I'm sure we'll do it.
Do you still want to be a dancer?
Paul: Yes. Being in the show has opened my eyes to a lot of opportunities. I'm doing my professional exams to teach and then I can look at doing demonstrations and things in the Latin and Ballroom area, which is what I'm used to doing.
Pamela: I've got a few auditions lined up so hopefully if all goes well I can get my career on the go.
What would be your dream job?
Paul: To be paid to dance either in teaching or in shows. Anything that involves dancing as I thoroughly enjoy it. I love a challenge and I'll do anything.
Pamela: I'd love to work commercially within TV. I'd love to do backing dancing on TV shows or something in the West End.
What have you done since leaving the competition?
Paul: I had a barbeque with friends. I got recognised by nine people on the train so that was quite funny.
Pamela: I've just been phoning people.

It just seems to me that every week the strongest couple from the bottom two has left the competition. Thank goodness Darrien and Hollie and Ben and Stephannie are still there. Mind you - nothing shocks me anymore so I wouldn't be surprised if they go too. Hope not.
Mimi
They were going 2 win!!!! What were the public thinking!?
Sarah

absolutely unbelievable, you two danced out of your skins and were by far the more superior couple. Just can't understand how the viewers are voting. Don't give up!
Aileen
Cant believe that Paul and Pamela have had to leave. No offence to JP and Stacey but they should never have got this far. Been a great series though I love it!
rachel

Simone
We loved Paul and Pam and are so sorry they got knocked out especially as the Judges thought they should have stayed.
Tara
I think it is wrong that Paul and Pamela went out this week, their dance was clearly one of the best of the night! I am a fan of JP and Stacey but i feel it was their time to go.
lesley
Wrong decision voters!
Mark & Jennifer & JP & Stacey were more obvious choices to leave. In fact, they should have left weeks ago
Brian Tinson
I am absolutely amazed that Paul and Pamela have gone out. I thought they were superb and a facinating couple.

Sue
I missed the result show. I cant believe it, even though they argued they were very good dancers and were pulling together as a couple.
Craig Ward
I think on this occasion Paul and Pamela were the weakest, however overall JP and Stephannie are consistently weak. I love the show, i am a really big fan, especially of Graham Norton
fiona
i love jp and stacey but i thought it was there time to leave last nite. every one else has upped their game but jp and stacey are the same wk after week. they always score low
Louise
I cannot belive that Paul and Pamela left! They were by far the best couple there; my favourites since the beginning. I'm devastated. Paul and Pamela rock!!
magpie
I did not see the result but i cannot believe they have gone they were one of the most interesting dancers i have seen on the show. Showing great promise, coping with not getting on and still producing great entertainment. I just felt that they would have got stronger and stronger as they developed as a pair.
Trieny
I can't believe that Paul and Pam had to go! They were great and I thought that they had a really good chance of winning. Mind you, everyone loves JP and Stacey!
Sophie
Staurday was a travesty, Paul and Pamela were sensational, as always, they should have stayed!!
Maria
I can not believe Paul and Pamela are out, I hope we get to see Paul again in the future, I have found following his change (for the better)in attitude, personality, physique etc. really interesting, I hope he comes back in a few weeks another 7lb lighter and with a 6pack just to show Arlene.

i'v been watchin strictly dance fever since the auditions and since it's been on the T.V and from the very start i would have wanted paul and pam to win, i really feel they are both superb dancers and deserve much more. i feel they should be offered more in the future. they have come through so much together and in my opinion have improved alot. now i'm hoping ben and stephannie come through and storm to victory
maria
Thats unbeileivable that paul and pam have gone, they should have stayed in the competition, they were the better of the two by far!
laura jane
i thought it was an absolute disgrace!!!!they were the winners in my eyes!
Aimee
Paul and Pamela deserved to stay!Although I like JP and Stacey it was their time to leave the competition, or even Mark and Jenneifer should of gone. Paul and Pamela had the potential to win! Good luck to them and carry on dancing!
Betty
Why on earth were Paul and Pamela sent home? JP and Stacey aren't as good. Paul and Pamela had much more and i believe that they should have won it! Not anymore!
avid fan wales
how on earth are jp and stacey still there!! i know they have developed alot and stacey has trimmed down and got alot more elegant but for the past 3 weeks the couples that left were far more superior
A Thompson
There was no way that Paul and Pam should've gone. They were far better that JP and Stacey!
Kate
I don't think Paul and Pam deserved to go out of the competition. They are far more talented than Stacey and P.J and have not had poor marks from the judges every week-what went wrong?
Kelly
I can't beleive that paul and pam were out yesterday!! They were top twice!
Jade
I was heartbroken that paul and Pam went! Pam is far the best female dancer in the competition and their partnership has grown so much over the weeks! :(
rachel
I cant believe paul and pam left it should have been jp and stacey that went not paul & pam
