About Strictly Social
For 2009 Strictly has got more social. Every week you can react to the live show online by pressing the 'boo', 'wow' and 'gasp' buttons, predict the scores and have your say about the show and share your views with the rest of the world.
To get the very best out of Strictly Social, you need to have a BBC Identity Login. If you've already been posting on our messageboards, then you already have a working Login. If you haven't posted there yet (and why not?!), you can get a Login on our Sign-Up page.
But don't worry - if you don't want to register, there are still lots of fun things you can do on Strictly Social.
The video screen
Once the live show starts, you can watch all the thrills and excitement online here. Or you can close the video and play along with the telly instead.
React with 'boos', 'wows' and gasps
Turn your emotions into glitter. Click the boo, wow and gasp buttons at any time to share your reaction. The more people react at the same time the bigger the glitter and the word.
Guess the judge's score
Every week you can test how well you know the judges by guessing how they'll score the couples in our 'how predictable' tool. When the judge's score is in you'll find out how good you are. If you're registered you'll get a special paddle to represent your judging level. The more accurate you are the more exclusive the paddle you'll get. Everyone starts with a paper paddle, but try to get up to a diamond one. This can go up or down depending on your week-by-week performance.
Have your say
You can have your say at any time and join in with what other people are saying or just view the comments if you prefer.
Answer this
Throughout the show the Strictly Social host will ask some fun questions. Answer before the glitterball countdown runs out and then see what everyone else thinks.
Play Strictly Social along with the programme. You can join in 30 mins before the show starts, and the fun carries on for 15 minutes after Strictly Come Dancing finishes on TV.
This is the extra special version of the catch-up show - BBC iPlayer with glitter.
And from Mondays on iPlayer, the moments where lots of people clicked boo, wow and gasp will glitter up before your eyes.
If you click Biggest Wow, Boo or Gasp you'll be taken to that point in the show that had the most reaction from Strictly Social users. And you can send this moment to a friend.
Strictly Social is a just-for-fun online community flash application that allows you to watch the live show, judge along and share your views and feelings with other fans of Strictly Come Dancing.
Users can participate in the text-based commenting system. Users wishing to submit comments are asked to register and login with their BBC Identity account. A user's BBC Identity display name will be shown alongside their comment. Users who do not specify a display name during the Identity registration process will have a series of numbers instead. All comments will initially go into a moderation queue and a selection will be published by the moderators.
Users can participate in guess the Judge's score. Before each dance users can predict the score of a specific judge. Users will be rated on their accuracy and will be given a rating message at the end of each dance. Users logged into BBC Identity will be awarded with a strictly paddle to represent their judging level. This can go up or down depending on your week-by-week performance and is viewable from the user's Strictly Social profile.
We will be collecting and keeping indefinitely anonymous results for Boo, Wow and Gasps at 10 second intervals during the event period. Comments, if approved by the moderators, are stored in the BBC comments system indefinitely. Profile data, including status, friends list and team are stored for the duration of the 2009 series of Strictly Come Dancing. This data is kept for internal purposes only.
Strictly Social is available up to 30 minutes before transmission and will close 15 minutes after transmission. Strictly Social opens in a pop-up window and includes the optional simulcast of the episode.
Strictly Social can only be played during the first-run transmission of Strictly Come Dancing and is not available during any other time.
The BBC reserves the right to cancel or suspend the application at any time.
