As the Grand Final Results Show continued, the combined judges and viewers votes were announced. But who would survive and hopefully go on to be victorious in the end?
Len said: "The key to the Waltz is not the quantity but the quality of the footwork, and both of you showed a great variation of steps. Both of you were excellent, but the footwork from Rachel was slightly better."
Bruno added: "I Celebrate both of you... to go this far... Tom you danced with assurance, but Rachel you really are a dancing delight."
Craig felt: "I agree with Len and Bruno. I did think Rachel and Vincent stood out as a little smoother, with less rise and fall."
Arlene commented: This is the oldest of waltzes it looks simple but it isn't. Rachel was a floating dream... Tom your the surfer, riding the waves... you did lead Camilla round the floor."
We were then treated to another of the returning couples group dances, as Christine & Matthew and Austin & Erin danced to a medley of songs including the classic Singin' In The Rain.
Lisa and Brendan then took to the floor to perform their show dance, that they had rehearsed during the week, to I'd Do Anything For Love by Meat Loaf. It was an emotional moment and the audience gave the couple a rapturous round of applause and a standing ovation.
The final two couples were then invited to perform individual show dances, where they could dance free style. So next to dance again were Rachel & Vincent, to Flashdance...What a Feeling by Irene Cara.
Craig said: "A great combination of steps, bar your stumble and fall (Rachel)."
Arlene added: "If eyes could be Flashdance, you'd have it Rachel!"
Len felt that: "Well they were listening to me. I saw Salsa, Cha Cha Cha... lift steps... I loved the way you engaged with each other and the audience."
Bruno said: "I loved the way you blended those Latin dances... just the right amount of lifts."
Finally Tom & Camilla danced their show dance to If My Friends Could See Me Now from the musical Sweet Charity.
Arlene said: "All I can say is WOW! Can I tell you that wasn't just brilliant for an amateur, that was brilliant for a professional!"
Len felt that: "I loved it, I loved it. I was smiling the whole way through. This was something else!"
Bruno said: "Show dances could never be more showy than this...from Hollywood to Broadway... comedy, ballroom, whatever you had, you threw it out there..."
Craig said: "You're like Bisto gravy darling. You saved the best till last - phenomenal!"
Next the audience were wowed by a guest performance by the amazing Duffy, singing her song Mercy. Then James and Ola danced a Cha Cha.
It was now time for four ex-champions of Strictly Come Dancing to take to the dance floor, as Mark Ramprakash & Karen Hardy, Jill Halfpenny & Darren Bennett, Darren Gough & Lilia Kopylova and Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler performed a show dance to Let Me Entertain You by Robbie Williams.
With the scores totalled up and verified, it was now time for Bruce and Tess to announce the winner for 2008. Then there were cheers and loud applause as Tom & Camilla were crowned the Strictly Come Dancing Champions!!!
To close this extraordinary show Tom and Camilla took to the floor one final time for their victory dance, to I've Had The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing.
And so another series of Strictly has come to a close, but you can still share your views on the results in our official Message Board thread.
