| Right,
now lets get this straight, before we go any further- I'm not a big fan of live
recordings in audio format only. I always feel excluded from the cheering crowds
who are obviously enjoying themselves immensely. Makes
you feel involved However, it seems our Mr Williams has done it again!
This album is yet another example of Robbie's ability to draw in his crowds, and
make them feel involved - even those sitting at home! The
CD contains 14 tracks, which as the title so obviously suggests, where recorded
live at the Knebworth concert earlier this year. Most tracks are taken from Robbie's
Escapology, with a mix from the previous 4 albums making up the numbers. Real
emotion I think my 2 favourite songs on this CD are Feel and Nan's
Song Why? Well, because they make it obvious that Robbie is really giving
it his all. They both contain so much of his energy and emotion that I couldn't
fail to be moved by them on each hearing. There
is also a rare treat in hearing Robbie singing the Classic Angels live
himself, as the crowds usually end up singing most of the song for him! Reminder
of Robbies concerts I myself didn't go to any of the Knebworth gigs. Instead,
I opted for the long journey up to Murayfield, Edinburgh. Obviously this recording
isn't an exact copy of my great day, but it still gives me a nice reminder, and
I think it's a must for fans who went to any of the concerts this year. If you
are one of the unfortunates who missed out on a ticket, or who didn't get to the
gig of your choice, then this album gives a bittersweet taster of what you missed
out on. As
well as the calmer songs already mentioned, the more energetic songs Let me
Entertain You (an obvious and effective show-opener) We will rock you,
'Hot Fudge', and the comical Me and my Monkey help to maintain a feel good
factor. Visual
reminder If like me, you want a visual reminder, there will be an accompanying
DVD released soon, entitled 'What We Did Last Summer' Mojo
