4th June Water-baby A Stoke on Trent baby who was delivered
whilst him mum was taking a bath has been named Noah. Katherine Lilley was taking
a bath at her home in Meir Heath on Thursday morning when she went into labour.
After a few hours in hospital Noah, who weighed in at 7 pounds and 9 ounces, is
back home and doing well.

for £350m hospital plan Stoke-on-Trent City Council approve a multi-million

Super college plan Preliminary moves to
merge two Staffordshire colleges, to create a "super college" have gone
extremely well, according to the two principals involved. Heads of Cannock Chase
Technical College and Rodbaston College outlined their plans for the future at
an informal presentation to members of the Staffordshire Learning and Skills Council
(LSC). War memorial made safe A war memorial has been made safe
again after it was found on an angle. The memorial in Nantwich was found to be
leaning over dangerously. Work to straighten it is due to be completed after
a special liquid which expands has been pumped into the foundations. It was feared
late-night drinkers who sometimes climb the monument could have brought it crashing
down. Tuesday 1st June Late
delivery A Staffordshire postman has been sacked after Royal Mail security
staff found 17,000 undelivered letters in a house. The postman, who was based
at the Kidsgrove Delivery Office, in North Staffordshire, has been arrested and
bailed pending further enquiries. Royal Mail says most of the letters have now
been delivered to customers - with a letter of explanation and an apology for
the delay. Sunday 30th May Man
released after weapons seized A 74-year-old man, arrested after weapons and
ammunition were found in a house in Hanford, is released on police bail. Full

Cinema plans take shape The man behind plans for a new cinema in Uttoxeter
hopes it will be open by Christmas. Developer Malcolm Barratt first unveiled plans
for a cinema in the town two years ago, although he has not yet been able to start
work on the project. He told BBC Radio Stoke he has now scrapped the idea of erecting
the development in existing buildings on the retail park which houses Tesco and
Argos. He said he would instead apply for planning permission in the next week
for a purpose-built bowling alley and cinema close to the supermarkets
Trentham awakes The people behind a major plan to transform Trentham Gardens
in Stoke-on-Trent say they're confident it'll prove a major attraction. The first
phase of the park - to be known simply as Trentham - ireopens today as part of
