Favourite tiny baby bootees

Baby bootees
Premature baby jbootees
Be careful when you knit bootees keep them very small.

The units do not seem to use as many pairs as they used to. Watch your pattern size.

They could start school in some.

The feet of Shirley’s samples measure just 2 ½” (6cm) across and they are 2” (5cm) deep when the top is turned over.

Shirley sent this pattern to me along with a sample pair . Try them they are really nice.

(Knitted in one strand of duomagic or Two strands of 2/30s)

Arrange 25 needles on both beds for full needle rib. Cast on, hang comb and weights and knit 2 tubular rows.

Set main bed to tuck in one direction only. Tension 3/3 knit 15 rows. * Decrease 1 stitch at both ends of both beds. Knit 2 rows. * Work from * to * 5 times altogether (15 stitches remain on each bed). Cancel tuck and knit 1 row. Transfer every alternate stitch on main bed to its adjacent needle leaving empty needles in Working Position. Set ribber to tuck in one direction only. Knit 28 rows. Cancel tuck and knit 1 row. Cast off loosely.

The cast ON row goes under the foot. The cast OFF row folds down to double the thickness at the ankle. Sew the seam. Thread ribbon through the row of holes and tie in a bow.
