Bedsocks pattern by Harold
Materials
60grm ( just over 2oz) Double Knitting Wool No 7 ( 4.5mm Knitting Needles)

Start at base of sock. Cast on either thumb method or under the stitch method.

Cast on 96 stitches and garter stitch ( every row knit) for 20 rows

Row 21. Knit 2 stitches, then knit 2 together, knit, until the last 4 stitches. Knit 2 tog . Repeat row 21 until 48 stitches remain. (this is shaping the foot)
Next
Knit 14 rows straight
Next Row
Knit 2 purl 2 rib , for 8 rows.
Next row ( eyelet row) Knit 2 wfwd Knit 2 together, repeat until the end of the row
Next row Rib knit 2 purl 2 to end (48sts)
Rib 4 more rows, then cast off loosely.

To make ties, Use a No 6 Crochet hook. Matching wool, or contrast, use two strands together . Make a chain of required length to thread through eyelet holes. Stitch off at ends. These make a good fasten as ribbon is inclined to undo easily.

Sew socks up on wrong side, turn and flatten seam between hands. Insert ties.
