Have your say
Before I start, I don’t claim to know everything about the Stoke Goth scene, and I have probably missed some things out so for a fuller picture it’s a good idea to check out the 'Web links' listed on the left.

I would say that Stoke has a good Goth scene, all the people that I know or have met are very friendly, but it can seem a bit intimidating for anyone new to stoke as most people have known each other for quite a while.

But you can join the Stokegoth, Staffsvamp, or Gothnight mailing lists to meet people, or register on Netgoth to get yourself noticed.

I would go along to the local Goth nights and start chatting to people… we don’t bite, honest!

The scene has changed a lot since I first moved to Stoke. We have lost a lot of good venues, the Wheatsheaf has gone which used to host some good Goth nights and bands, The Stage is now called The Sugarmill and seems to cater more for the dance scene. Chico’s once catered for Goths but is now not as Goth as it used to be.

But the Full Moon and Talbot occasionally have local bands playing, for example Lupine, Maelstrom, Killing Mercy, and Projekt come over from Nottingham.

Stoke does have a good Goth scene as there is always something going on in or around Stoke.

That's the intro to Goth Stoke and Newcastle but what about the rest of Staffordshire? Calling all Goths in Tamworth, Burton, Crewe, Leek, Nantwich and Stafford - let us know the highlights of your town and we'll add your information to the guide! We even want pictures if you've got 'em!

If you have information or pictures for the Staffordshire & South Cheshire Goth's Guide, then send it in to us at: stoke@bbc.co.uk
