It's Zippy, the hero of a children a generation ago.
The big floppy one, one of the best-known icons of British television, and his Rainbow chums are celebrating their 30th anniversary in October 2002, and as a homage to the UK's best loved TV personalities, Zippy is to become the new face of MARMITE.

Happy birthdays all round
Zippy Marmite jarAnd, to celebrate Zippy's 30th birthday, MARMITE are launching special commemorative jars adorned with the icon's face as a tribute to 30 years of his urchin antics and cheeky behaviour.

The jars will display classic Zippy poses, even capturing a rare moment of his mouth firmly zipped shut.

quote The bean toy might look like me, but nothing's better than being the real thing! As for the jars, I thought I was posing for a glamourous magazine shoot, but MARMITE had to ruin it! quote
Zippy (really)

Fans of the puppet-rogue will also be able to get their hands on an exclusive MARMITE Zippy bean toy... but first they have to buy one of the limited edition Marmite jars hitting the shops and enter the competition there.
